I am interested in getting custom buttons/magnets/key chains; what do I need to do?
The first step is to decide what size you would like to have, and then set up the artwork for it. An existing logo/design that you have can be used, or for a small fee the artwork can be developed for you. Even if you have a pre-made logo, some reworking may be necessary if it was not formatted for a round canvas. After the the artwork has been put up in the button template an image of how it looks will be sent to you for approval. You can relate any changes you would like (such as font, allignment, colours, etc.), and after adjustments are made a new picture will be sent for review. Once you are happy with how the button looks and approve the artwork, you will be invoiced and production will begin. When the order is shipped you will receive a notification e-mail so you know they are on the way.

What sizes are available?
1.25", 1.5", and 2.25" sizes are available at this time. You can see a size comparison here.

How much will a custom button/magnet/key chain cost?
The cost depends on the size and how many are ordered. You can find tables with the breakdowns on the Custom Designs page.

How long will it take to get custom items made?
The time frame depends on the number ordered and how busy things are at the time of your order. For orders of 100 items or less, it usually takes 3 to 5 business days from artwork confirmation to you order being shipped.

Can you put my logo on a button?
Yes, an existing logo can be put on a button. However, since buttons are round and many logos are not, some reworking may be necessary to make it fit properly and make effective use of the area available. Any changes will be sent to you for approval before the buttons are made.

What graphics formats do you accept designs in?
Currently the preferred formats for receiving a logo are SVG, AI, or a high quality JPG or GIF. At this time we do not use Pagemaker, though Adobe Illustrator is supported.

Can you make a design for me? How much will it cost?
Yes, a design can be made for you. If you describe what you are looking for, a design will be created and sent to you for approval, and we will work with you until you are happy with it. That being said, there is not a professional graphic artist on staff, so complicated or intricate design requests may be beyond my ability to produce. The cost for artwork creation depends on the amount of effort involved, but it is usually $10 or less.

Do you have examples of buttons you've made?
You can find a gallery of buttons made for others here. Some are designs that were developed for the client, while others are logos the client provided for production.

What shipping options are available?
Shipments are sent via Canada Post. Canadian orders are sent by regular mail and typically take a week to arrive. International orders of under 100 buttons are typically sent by Canada Post Light Packet, which takes 1.5 to 2 weeks for U.S. destinations, and 2 to 3 weeks for destinations outside North America. Larger orders are sent by Canada Post Small Packet, and delivery times are available on the Canada Post website.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment is accepted by PayPal and money orders (they must be cashable in Canada). If you will be choosing the local pickup option, payment in cash at the time of pickup is also an option, but must be confirmed in advance.

Is local pickup available?
Yes, local pickup to avoid shipping costs is an option.

Where are you located?
Island Buttons is located near Bridgewater in Nova Scotia, Canada. Pick-up of orders in Bridgewater is available, and pick-up in Halifax is also possible if arranged in advance, since trips to the city are periodically made.
